10G clay, black underglaze, and clear glaze

The main idea guided through this artwork was to make designs on clay by scratching the underglaze off, with a variety of sharp tools. the design I made was a golf hole. I had this idea because I made golf holes in the past and I thought it would look cool by doing it on the clay. The design of the golf hole was one I came up with in my head.

The materials I used for this project were clay, underglaze,  clear glaze, and a variety of sharp tools.

When starting this project I started by making a idea design on black paper with a white pencil, and when I finished that I put the underglaze on and started the scratching. I made sure to add different types of texture on the clay by using different materials, and I also made sure to control how deep I scratched so it looked even with the rest of the artwork. In the green on this artwork I wanted to add different breaks in the green so I digged deeper and lighter on the green on different parts of it. After we were done scratching the clay we put it in the kiln, and once it was out we added the clearglaze. After that we put it back in the kiln. Overall I think the artwork came out pretty good.
