Gringgots Piggy Bank

Lid design has a lip, which I moved to the outer edge (not the lid for this particular piggy bank).

I would say this one was the hardest to build. Starting with the base I got all the walls cut out and designs on. Then the hard part of getting them to stay together, once the base walls were up I had to construct the front piece. The individual pillars which had to be placed at certain angles were difficult to get right. All the questions "did you mean to do that?" "whys it crooked?" Getting the dome the shape I wanted and size took some time and fiddling. I then had it bisque fired and the picking of glaze colors started. Finding the right colors to suit the bronze top, mixing a gray for the walls which ended up turning blueish gray in the kiln. I used the same mixed window color from the Leaky Cauldron as well as the door color. It was glaze fired then photgraphed.Â
