Animal Assemblage

It is visually evident that I chose to make a bee hive with bees and Pooh Bear. The story is I wanted to choose one an animal that is endangered so I choose bees because people often over look the fact that they are an endangered species. This project relates to my life because I love animals and especially the endangered ones. It is 14x8 inches (base) 15inches (height).

To make this art work I used wood/cardboard(base), tin foil (Pooh Bear, Hunny Pot, Bees), sticks (Tree), chicken wire, a cardboard container, tinfoil, newspaper, and tissue paper (Bee Hive), Paper (Pooh Bear, Bees, grass) Hot glue (to hold it together), screws, wire, nail (for support)

I started by making small oval shapes out of tin foil I then used hot glue to glue yellow and black strips of paper to the ovals. Then I made small head and covered them in paper. I made sure that the queen bee had a bigger adonmin than the other bees. Then I created my bee hive. I started off by cutting and shaping chicken wire into a hive shape. Then I put a cardboard cylinder in the middle for support. Then I made tin foil into snake like strips and I wrapped them around to make the bumps in cartoon hives. After this I made the top bump by putting all my scraps into a ball and glueing it to the top. I then stuffed it with newspaper. After this I wrapped it with tissue paper. Then I covered my cardboard with green paper and grass cut outs. Then I constructed my tree by cutting up a branch and nailing it together in an L shape. Then (with help from dad) I used a cut piece of board and screwed the screw through the board then the cardboard then the stick this then helped my tree to stay up right. We then drilled a hole in the stick and poked a wire through my hive to help hold it on the tree. The next day I drilled small holes in the branch (not all the way through) to glue small fur branches to to cover up the wire. I then constructed my Pooh Bear and Hunny pot with tinfoil, then I wrapped him in paper. Did the same for his pot then put him together. Cut out the letters to spell Hunny glued them on. made drips from paper. Then I glued on all the bees either on wire or just around. My project started as just some balls of tin foil that then turned into evolved and got added to, to make my sculpture. My next steps could bee to make Pooh have a shorter torso.
