Oil Pastel Blending Portrait

My artwork is of my friend. This shows that she had many colors in the picture because it is very bright. I wanted to do this to possibly give to her for her birthday. This art relates to my life because she is one of my close friends and it is something moth her and I have wanted to do for a while. 9x12 Inches.

For this project I was only allowed to use Oil Pastel and I used a tortillion to blend together all the colors.

My art started a a gridded picture an piece of paper. Then I started to color square by square and then blend all the colors in each square together. Then I kept going going square by square. When I had finished coloring each square I then cut off the edges because they had Oil Pastel on the sides. Then I glued the picture to a new piece of paper. I could have matched my colors even better than I did. A next step for this project would be to blend more.
