Mixed Media

My work shows my pet and what she would look like if I drew her. The story is about the day my dog passed and we put her favorite monkey toy in her collar to make her happy. My project relates to my life because she was my best friend and was always there. 15 x 12 Inches.

For this project I gridded the printed photo then the paper then I went from left to right with charcoal and ink.

I started by shading in the squares and matching the value of the square to the photo. I took it home and worked on the values for many hours. My project started as a gridded photo and paper then I shaded the the values of each square with charcoal and ink. My next steps could be to work harder on making the shapes better and making sure to match where they go instead of guessing on some of them.
