Bookends

I am a big Harry Potter fan, I have done one other Harry Potter-based project this year. I always try to make things that I know I will enjoy later on, and use if possible. We were told to make bookends and my first thought was Harry Potter I could make something to hold up the collection. So I went and started looking, I found a photo of the design for bookends that were Platform 9 3/4. I drew out a design and started. I built the base of the bookends which was a thinner base and a pretty thick top piece which I has to hollow out for it to not explode in the kiln. I added the curved portion(archway) to both sides and drew on the bricks and tiles. I then started on probably the longest part of making this the trolly and Harry himself. I made harry first and I made him too tall, I had to cut him in half and chop off a bunch of his torso and legs. Once he was done I made the trolly, I added a trunk, some random boxes, and a wand box, as well as Hedwig's cage. I went to attach the trolly to the wall and it wasn't seamless. I had to carve out space and seal it to make it seamless, I attached the trolly and Harry and then it got fired. I used many colors of paint to color it, such as brick red, gray, black, white, some blues, and reds and greens. Then it got fired again.
