Nuclear Chemistry

Content

Nuclear Chemistry is a Unit that focuses on the Atom, Atom Models, and Nuclear Binding. The purpose of this unit was to help us understand the basics of chemistry and introduce the ideas of atoms and the binding. It is used in real life situations such as the creations of bombs, the mixtures of soda, etc.

The part I found most interesting was Atomic Models and who created certain parts of them. We learned about this to greater enhance our knowledge on the Atom. We will use it in real life situation because it will allow us to understand what an atom looks like and how it acts. The Atomic Model and person our table group was assigned was the cloud model and James Chadwick. Chadwick had proven the existence of neutrons, meaning that many previous atomic models changed to adapt to this change. The most important and notable was the cloud model.

Reflection

Some things I did well during this unit was the work on this unit. I (eventually) was able to contribute a good slide for our group's slideshow (as shown above). I also did well on the presentation as I have enhanced my presentation skills over the years of high school. Another thing I did well was Collaboration with my group as we were able to work together to evenly divide the work, as well that we were able to get the information we needed from each other.

One thing I learned about myself is that I get distracted easily when I feel that the assignment is easy. For example, in the slideshow shown above, I got very distracted while working on it as I believed it was an easy assignment. To help with this, next time I will finish my work first, then check on my group mates to see if I can help them with their portion of the work.
