Teaching Values are Important and So Are Mine
My teaching values are creating a safe environment for all of my students within the classroom. Not only should my students feel safe but their families as well should feel safe and welcomed into my classroom. Learning should be fun and creative, but I want to make sure that my students are coming in with open minds to the classroom. As humans we all go through rough times in our lives, but when it comes to being in my classroom I want to make sure that my students are feeling supported by me as a teachers as well as their peers. My values as teachers when it comes to within the classroom is making sure that my students are having fun, being creative, and learning within the lesson. As a teacher I want to keep checking in with my students throughout the lesson to see if I am going too fast or if a topic needs to be repeated. Allowing myself to repeat within the classroom allows my students to understand the context of the lesson as well as being creative within the lesson.
As teachers we are helping our students become the best that they can be for themselves not others. Students are the future for our world and to point our future in the right way. We as teachers are there for our students so that they can learn various values and fundamental skills such as art, music, math, reading, and writing. As teachers we should be able to teach our students to have open minds about various topics such as race, gender, sexual orientation, and the differences in families. Not every family is the same, so by teaching students that all families are different it keep our students to have open minds.
