The role of the teacher is to teach, respond, and influence their students. Teacher are role models within school, so by showing that role model skill it allow students to learn and grow within the classroom. It shows the students that learning the material in the class can be hard because his or her teacher went through school the same way there are going through. Students should be able to understand necessary life skills needed to go forward each year but also be able to reflect on themselves each year with the help of the teacher. Teachers are able to help students understand fundamental skills such as reading, writing, and math by supporting them. The support that teachers are able to give is allowing students to understand what they can improve as well as what they are doing well at. The role of the teacher is important because not only should the teacher have great communication with their students but also be able to communicate with their colleagues. This allows for the teacher to obtain feedback from their colleagues on what is working in their own classrooms, and what is not working. This allows for everyone to find the happy-medium for their classrooms so that the students can learn and grow. It is also important that as teachers making sure that students are doing well, because we may not always be aware of what our students may be going through. It is our job as teachers to reach out and offer support to them. Allowing that support to them lets the students know that not only is the school safe but the classroom is a safe place for them to talk about what they may be going through.
