When it comes to education and why I chose to pursue it would be because of the students and youth of the generation. They motivate me each day to come into my student observations as well as the teachers I am working with right now. As an educator there are bound to be hard days as a teacher, but I am ready to face each day as teacher with a smile. Not only will a smile help with facing the hard and challenge days as a teacher, but my students will keep me motivated and remembering me why I wanted to become a teacher. Education runs in my blood because many of my aunts and uncles are educators which may have inspired me to become a teacher. My father Jack Lain, was a teacher for 27 years and then a principal for 8 years. My other father Kim Straus worked primarily in early education supporting young mother with babies. Education has always been a passion of mine since 3rd grade when my third grade teacher Leslie Prada gave me a sheet that said "what do you want to become in the future". I remember immediately writing down " I wanna become a teacher like you". I never knew that I would be pursuing a career in teaching. Education has been a passion of mine since 3rd grade and going forward in the future I wanna be the best teacher that I can be for my students. When I close my eyes to picture where I will be, I see myself in a six grade math classroom.
Kelly Griego ( 2nd Grade Teacher)
Aiyana Pendleton ( HS Advisor )
Olga Herrera ( 9th Spanish Teacher)
Carol Bulaga, Ellen Lain, Jean Fazzino Lain
Leslie Prada ( 3rd Grade Teacher)
Each one these educators above have cleared a path and made a big impact on me and my education. I could not do it without anyone of them, because they have shaped a path of education for me. In Elementary School, my teachers: Mrs.Vigil, Mrs. Griego, Mrs. Prada, Ms. Gallegos, and Mrs. Romp were inspirations for me as a student. As well as they also had to put up with my mischievous and sometimes bad behavior, but overall they taught me that it was part of being an elementary student. I am so lucky that I had such amazing elementary school teachers.
In Middle School and High School I had my ups and downs as a student. As well as I struggled throughout these years with mental health which was a big hender to me as a student. That did not stop me from giving up and kept pushing me through the hard times, but I would not have been able to push through any of those days without some of these amazing teachers: Olga Herrera, Aiyana Pendleton, Anna Westen, Dan Murray, Ashley Watson, Leslie Smith,. When I struggled in those classes I reached out for help from two wonderful, amazing, smart, and hardworking tutors Marvin Nogueda and Akinah Dooling.
Thank you all! I am forever grateful!
