Sun Valley Elementary

My fall semester senior year placement at Sun Valley Elementary School was strategically designed for broad exposure, initially involving rotations between 4th-grade and Kindergarten on Tuesdays and Thursdays. While the Wednesday rotation schedule was beneficial for observing diverse teaching methods and classroom management styles, a highlight was the extra time I spent in Elijah Juri's (Mr. Juri) 2nd-grade classroom during the final weeks. His classroom environment, driven by his enthusiasm and frequent movement, fosters learning through engaging activities like educational and positive chants (e.g., "yes, she did it, get it got it good"). This firsthand experience demonstrated the power of dynamic instruction. I concluded my required placement hours and recorded my final lesson plan video in Nicole Franceschi's 2nd-grade classroom.
