I didn't do the signal flow diagram or the budget as I was sick during week five's class. This left the presentation as my only task and opportunity to participate in this assignment. Bailey wasn't present during the presentation but me and Kieran managed to commence and complete the presentation regardless. Reflecting back, I do regret not being more vocal to Kieran and Bailey about what my responsibilities were.
Considering the first session in week four was my very first and only demonstration about setting the AV presentation, I am surprisingly proud of myself that I was able to set up the AV presentation relatively quickly. Although Bailey wasn't present and I was nervous about making a fool of myself, the communication between Kieran and myself was sufficient and I managed to remember most of what needed to be done. Being the last group and observing what the previous groups did prior to us also helped. We also recieved really good feedback from the other groups and Ryan. The feedback from Group 1 (Owen, Stephen and Sean) stated "Kieran and Nicholas worked really well together, the set up was neat and, we helped each other out. Group 2's (Bryce, Greg and Connor) feedback was relatively similar saying "You were very quick and efficient in your set up and my cable management was great".
Not being present for the second demonstration and Bailey being absent was probably a downside, and I do feel sorry for Kieran as he did have to remind me what to do time to time and mainly carried the group this time around. There was also a small amount of steps that were overlooked, like the turning the mixer on after the speakers (which I warned Kieran about a little too late) and the right speaker's line input into the mixer being incorrect. Apart from those minor issues there wasn't much I can say that didn't go well.
Looking forward for the next project, if sickness doesn't take a hold of me as it has the past couple weeks then I need to step up and start making sure I'm present for all sessions ands workshops. It looks as though we will be going a step further with graphic EQ's and controlling fold back speakers in the next project, so missing a session would really badly impact me. There wasn't any negative or constructive feedback from the other groups however I believe the areas I need to work on would be:
My cable rolling (It's good but could be quicker and better quality).
Understanding the signal flow better.
Being more hands on in the workshops.
If this was applied prior to this project I may have performed better, but for the set up and the presentation I think I did surprisingly well considering the knowledge.
