Rugby

Rugby at QMC is open to male and females of all standards and provides an enjoyable experience for all - the team spirit within the squad each year is exceptionally high.

The team has enjoyed plenty of success in recent years including wining the Hampshire Schools and Colleges League, Plate, Bowl and Shield cup competitions and various 7-a-side tournaments. The excellent free-draining College pitch surface means matches have never been cancelled due to rain.

Training:

Training each Friday morning is timetabled (09:00-11:30) and taken by two highly experienced and well-qualified coaches (Andy Pryce and Andrew Fields) who provide enjoyable, stimulating and challenging sessions with drills, structured games and match-play situations to enable everyone to develop their skills.

Competition:

A variety of competitive opportunities are arranged for every Wednesday afternoon of the Autumn and Spring terms (for which you will be timetabled): 15-a-side matches in the Hampshire College's League, The Hampshire School's Cup and friendlies; together with 7-a-side competitions in the AoC Sport South East Championships, The Hampshire Schools President's 7s and The QMC college's 7s.

This provides the opportunity to regularly play the colleges from Hampshire as well as others from Sussex, Surrey, and Berkshire as well as schools from across the South of England.

Every year all members of the QMC Rugby squad will be given the opportunity to play so sign up at enrolment and enjoy a great experience.

Cost:

£105 per year for Men's Rugby and £20 per year for Women's Rugby. This includes provision of facilities, transport, and affiliation to relevant organisations. Subsidised team kit is also included, which includes team shirt, shorts and socks.
