Men's Basketball

The Men's Basketball team is coached by a Level 2 qualified coach, with the programme focusing on developing core skills, teamwork and game understanding.

All standards are catered for throughout the various sessions that are in place. We are inclusive so if you want to play and show an interest, you will be given the opportunity to improve and represent the college competitively.

Training:

Training takes place on Tuesday 7:00-8:30am and Thursday 15:25-17:25pm. The sessions focus on technical aspects of shooting, drills and game play. This covers offensive and defensive plays and game organisation. All training takes place in the Sport Centre hall. There is one full size court with sprung rings and an additional 4 practice rings around the court.

In addition, students will be able to improve their fitness in the gym with programmes written for them by coaches or staff.

Competition:

We run a Men's and Women's team that compete in the Hampshire Leagues. Both the Men's and Women's teams enter the Hampshire League and various cups throughout the season. The men's team won the Hampshire U19 Men's Division 2 League and placed 4 this year.

Other opportunities:

There are good links for both Women's and Men's Clubs who our players are guided to play for to further their skill set. This gives extra breadth and depth to their training and allows them to compete beyond College.

Cost:

£60 per year. This includes provision of facilities, transport, and affiliation to relevant organisations. Individualised playing kit is available at an extra cost.
