Football Academy (Male)

At QMC we aim to provide a competitive environment where players can develop using our excellent facilities including our 3G surface, fitness suite and the excellent level of training let by our UEFA qualified coaches. Football plays an integral part of student development. It is our belief that students should enjoy their football but also develop knowledge and understanding of the game. Ultimately, becoming better individuals and team players by the time they leave College.

Training:

Training is allocated to your timetable during a Friday morning between 09:00-11:30 and takes place on our 3G pitch. There are opportunities to access the college fitness facilities at other times for Football Academy students. Training is tailored to provide all players the opportunity to develop their skills during sessions. Trials are usually held in September.

Competition:

The Men's First XI play in the Hampshire College's Championship league which is highly competitive. The second XI play in the Conference where there is still much competition and the standard remains high. There are also competitive opportunities to represent the college in other tournaments as well as trialling for the Hampshire College's representative team for exceptional performers.

Other opportunities:

We have good links with local football clubs to provide playing and coaching opportunities. One of our coaches is also a professional football scout with good links to non-league and professional clubs for exceptional performers. There is also potential for trips to visit footballing facilities as well as guest visits from companies offering potential USA Scholarships.

Cost:

£110 per year. This includes provision of facilities, transport and affiliation to relevant organisations, as well as referee fees. A shirt, shorts and socks are also provided within the costs.
