Attendance is extremely important for all students. We want all students to feel included and important to their learning community. We also don't want anyone to miss out on learning opportunities. Please ensure that your child arrives at school each day with time to unpack and get settled in their classroom for instruction to start at 8:00AM. Thank you for your help
Our Spring Literati book fair is coming up at the end of March. The online fair opens Friday, Feb. 23. We're partnering with H-E-B to collect plastic bags for recycling March 11-April 11! Bags can be from any retailer. We will be in competition with other schools around the metroplex to collect the most bags! Bags will be organized into groups of 25 if you'd like to pre-count and group at home. Thank you for your participation! ♻️
Mark your calendars for Open House on March 26, 4:30-5:30PM. All Slaughter families are invited to visit classrooms and learn about what students have been doing and learning. The book fair will also be open!
Every Friday, students are invited to donate $1 to Slaughter's Relay for Life team, to wear a hat to school.

Slaughter now has access to a positive character development program called “Character Strong-Purposeful People” for teachers to use during community circle time. Please read the introduction letter linked here to learn more! Monthly family newsletters will be linked about the skills and strengths being taught each month. Each letter will include some ways to build these skills at home, discussion starters, and fun challenges you can try with your family. The positive character trait for the month of January is perseverance.
