“Be Gut Happy. Be Gut Healthy.”
This slogan has taken the Niskayuna cafeteria by storm, with the popular soda, Poppi, recently found in the hands of countless Niskayuna High School students.
Before December break, Poppi had been a small part of the cafeteria’s wide selection of beverages. But ever since the new “cafe style” tables were added to the Old Cafe, so was the vast amount of flavors of Poppi.
But, what makes this drink so desired by students? Well, Poppi tastes similar to, or even better than, any average soda, and with so many flavors that one is bound to find one that suits their taste. But the taste is not the biggest reason why Poppi is served and loved so much.
Poppi is way healthier than other sodas and benefits your well-being. Its low amount of sugar, probiotic ingredients, and low calories makes it the perfect drink that satisfies the school policies and the student needs.
Along with the actual drink itself making it appealing to students, Poppi also is sold in many places and is advertised plenty. Poppi is especially sold in the one place that you are most likely to see a Niskayuna High School student shopping with their friends: Target.
Target has partnered with Poppi and sells many of the Poppi flavors. Target even recently came out with a clothing line centered around Poppi, which is similar to the desired aesthetic of many teenagers today. Not only will you see students drinking this soda, but they will also be sporting their logo and merchandise.
The Poppi soda is very appealing to most high school students, with girls being their primary audience. The bright colors and modern style has an aesthetic that would catch the eye of many teenage girls. If Poppi was in any other can, many wouldn’t be buying it. Poppi’s container used to be in an ordinary clear bottle, but has evolved as the “clean and preppy” aesthetic became a trend, creating a style desired by many.
Poppi soda is definitely a unique drink that has become a part of many Niskayuna students' diets. Of the 100 million dollars that Poppi makes a year, it should be known that Niskayuna High School will always have a part in that.
