Spring has finally arrived! The warm and mellow feel is back from a long winter season. You may have forgotten what great activities you can partake in this season. After all, it’s been a while since we last enjoyed a good day in the sun. So here are some of the best activities you can do this spring season!
Spring Sports are back! Pick a sport you enjoy to play and go have fun! With all the green grass now available, you can now play sports like soccer, baseball, football, frisbee and more. Invite your friends and family members to join to make your experience even better! And if you already play the sports listed above, use this time to practice and get better!
Go for a hike! The weather is finally getting warmer so picking the right day to go out for a hike is much easier. Once you pick a day, find a location that’s near you. One great trail near Niskayuna is the Lisha Kill Natural Area which is about 2.2 miles in length. Next, find a group of friends or family to go with on your hike. And finally, make sure you bring water and follow all of the safety directions given at the site. This way, you can have a safe, healthy, and great experience.
Enjoy the sun! Before we get to the humid and blistering summer heat, enjoy the warmth and benefits of the sun while we’re in Spring. One way we can do this is by sunbathing. Sunbathing is proven to have many benefits including improved sleep and strengthening of the immune system among many more. However, sunbathing has to be done with caution as sunbathing for too long could lead to many drawbacks such as rashes, sunburn and even skin cancer. But sunbathing done with caution is very beneficial and can improve overall health!
Pick up a book! The cool, breezy afternoon of Spring is perfect for reading outside. The outside environment allows for a calm reading experience that is proven to be valuable. Studies have shown that reading outside makes people more focused and concentrated as well as reduces stress. If you are interested in reading outside, I would strongly recommend using a hammock, as it really brings out the tranquility of the whole experience.
