The Seasons
Winter
Cold and crisp, your breath fogs up with the slightest breeze.
The wind takes your breath away.
The blood rushes to your face and captures your cheeks and nose.
White snowflakes attach to your hair and eyelashes, making your eyes like a DIY kaleidoscope.
Everywhere around you is a marshmallow world.
Spring
Everything starts to melt, slowly showing the green that was hidden underneath.
Buds start to spring upon every bush and branch, slowly blooming over the weeks.
All the colors that we have been missing start to come into view.
The warmth starts to come back with the sun.
Flowers spring out of the ground.
Summer
Everyday gets warmer than the last.
Cool breezes come to cool you off.
New flowers start to come into view off in the distance.
The smell of chlorine in the air and children’s squeals of laughter.
Water dripping down onto the hot pavement.
The squeaking sound of you walking in your flip-flops.
The sun shining upon you.
Fall
Leaves start to change.
Red, green, yellow, and orange hues take over.
The weather gets colder.
Sweaters become the new best thing.
Snuggling up in blankets to read a good book.
The joy of kids playing in the leaves echo through the air.
The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, plays in the background.
Then, the season changes.

About Me: Hello, my name is Lily! I have written two pieces for you to read, (you’ll find my other piece in a different section). This piece is a poem about the changing seasons. I thought that I would slip out of my comfort zone and write a poem for this website.
