THOSE EYES
Looking into your eyes
I see how we started, happy
I can still picture our first date
The way you complimented my dress yellow like the sun
The way you looked me up and down trying to figure me out
I still see the happy man I once knew
The man who randomly got me flowers
The man who would pause everything when I was sad
The man who held me through thick and thin
The man who I fell deeply in love with
Oh how I wish that man still existed
YOU DON'T KNOW
You don't know my favorite color anymore
I changed it
You don't know how many pets I have now
I got another dog
You don't know what stories I like to create
I started storytelling by the way
You don't know my brother finally stood up for himself
You don't know my mom changed her recipe for our favorite food
You don't know my dog still waits to hear the roar of your truck
You just don't know anything anymore
Not even me
My name is Addie, and I'm in 11th grade. This poem is about a relationship that starts out great and slowly goes bad. About two years ago I was in a relationship with someone that slowly started getting not so nice.
