He then received a BFA from Suny Purchase in 2000, an MFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 2006, and an honory Doctorate in Fine Arts from Washington Jefferson College.

"The mission of A.I.M by Kyle Abrahama is to create a body of dance-based work that is galvanized by Black culture and history and features the rich tapestry of Black and Queer stories. The work, informed by and made in conjunction with artists across a range of disciplines, entwines a sensual and provocative vocabulary with a strong emphasis on music, text, video, and visual art. While grounded in choreographer Kyle Abraham's artistic vision, A.I.M draws inspiration from a multitude of sources and movement styles.
Abraham has performed with and choreographed for many acclaimed dance companies including Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company (2000), David Dorfman Dance (2007), Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (2010, 2012, 2016), and the New York City Ballet (2018).
Over the years, Abraham has become the recipient of many awards and recognitions including: 2012 Jacob's Pillow Dance Award, 2013 MacArthur Fellow, 2016 Doris Duke Award Recipient, Bessie Award for Outstanding Performance in Dance for his work in The Radio Show, Dance Magazine's first ever Guest Editor, and many more.
