#jailbeddrop
“In Jail Bed Drop, we always support a piece of legislation. I always make sure our work has a ‘call to action’ and there is usually a ballot measure or bill included amongst other things” She supported Measure R through JailBedDrop, Measure R is a reform in the Los Angeles County organizing to stop Sheriff violence and abuse in jails. “We dedicated one wall of the installation to Measure R where we included basic information about the measure and how people can be involved.” (1)

#jailbeddrop is an interactive piece of Mim's which she decided to extend off of Justice LA's #jailbeddrop series, where she uses dance and an art installation to challenge our inherent notion between crime and punishment. The work facilitates a space for the audience to explore accountability and reflect one's values onto our criminal justice system. Throughout the installation Mims created more segments to create candid discussions, these segments include: Jails & Justice, For Freedom Congress
