Context: Ballet Hispánico is known to be the largest Latinx/Latine/Hispanic cultural organization in the United States and one of American cultural Treasures. They are located in New York City which provides a home and cultural heart for Latinx dance in the United States. They provide inclusive cultural conversations and explore the intersectionality of Latinx cultures. They receive Latine/Latinx/Hispanic individuals with open harms which breaks stereotypes and helps celebrate the beauty and diversity of Hispanic cultures through dance. The founder of Ballet Hispánico was Tina Ramirez in the 1970s at the height of the post-war civil rights movement. At the time they provided a haven for Black and Brown's families seeking a place and artistic sanctuary. They founded the company to increase accessibility to dance and art for the marginalized Latinx community.
