This unit focuses on developing students’ skills and visual language in three-dimensional art through hands-on exploration of sculpture and construction techniques. Students will create artworks based on a theme using materials such as ceramics, mosaic, plaster, and papier-mâché. They will be supported by studies of both contemporary and historical artists to inform and inspire their practice. The course also encourages students to make connections between art and everyday life, participate in class discussions, and develop their ability to reflect on and write about artworks using appropriate visual arts terminology.
