Course Description
Exercise Science and Biomechanics is designed for high-achieving students to develop and implement relevant skills & knowledge that are vital for success in a VCE Physical Education Pathway.
The course will include exposure to a high workload of VCE level content including laboratory reports, case studies and data analysis within practical sessions. The coursework is developed to exhibit the academic rigor required in VCE.
Students will develop an understanding of various topics through a combination of both theoretical and practical style lessons. In particular, students will focus on the cardiorespiratory vascular and musculoskeletal systems and how these play a role in the body's energy production during movement. Students will also investigate the body's different energy systems. In addition to this, students will examine how biomechanical principles can be used to analyse and improve movement skills in exercise and physical activity. and sport.
