This elective is primarily aimed at those students who are considering enrolling in General mathematics at year 11 and Further mathematics at year 12. The course will consolidate core concepts taught in previous year levels. It will allow students to extend their range and understanding of areas covered in both basic and extended mathematical concepts and problem solving along with the use of technology to solve mathematical problems. There will be opportunities for student to apply their mathematical skills to different types of applications and to become familiar with the new CAS (Computer Algebra Systems) calculators.

Networks and decision making: Identify key features, derive matrices
Matrices: Creating, addition, subtraction, multiplication and inverse matrices
Highly recommended for students intending to study VCE General mathematics at year 11 and VCE Further mathematics at year 12.
