Change the Visibility of Your Moodle Course
Instructors can change the visibility of their courses to make them hidden from students if the course is not ready for use, or they can hide topics within their Moodle course.
Change the Visibility of Your Moodle Course
You can make the entire course available or unavailable to students at any time by changing your course settings.
Navigate to your course page then in the navigation tabs, select Settings. The Edit course settings page will open.
Under General settings, find the Course visibility and change the drop-down option to either Show or Hide. When finished, scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save and display. Your main course page will open.
Please note: When your course is hidden, the course will have a label that says “Hidden from students” that will display on the My courses page and will not display on the Dashboard.
Hide or Show Individual Sections or Items
You can also hide or show individual topics or items within your course. For any topic, resource, or activity:
In the upper right, turn editing on. The page will refresh to show editing controls.
Locate the item you want to hide, then to the right, select Edit. The Edit drop-down menu will open.
Select Hide. The title of the item will be displayed in gray text and a label saying "Hidden from students" will be displayed below.
