The World I See

Oh, will you see the world I’ve seen Before my world is gone, Or must the world I’ve seen Be seen by me, and just by me alone? Dear, will you share the joys I’ve known Before the joy is gone, Or must the joys I’ve known Be mine alone, forgotten when I’m gone? Love, will you hear the songs I’ve sung Before my songs are done, Or must the songs be sung By me to me and me alone? I’d have you see the world I’ve seen, And know the joys I’ve known. I’d have you hear the songs I’ve sung, To know me when I’m gone. I cannot make you see my world, Or know the joys I’ve known. I cannot open up your ears To hear the songs I’ve sung. But if I’ve lived, it’s in that world. And if you’d think of me, Learn of that world of joy and song, The world of love I see.
