Bonds

Bonds of affection bind me to few Obligations bind me to more Threads of acquaintance tangle the net Of bonds to my heart and my soul. Cut them they whisper and you will be free Cut them to be what you must Cut through the bonds that hold you in place Cut them to truly be free But flying alone is not what I want I’ll fly, but there’s more that I need I need to have lovers who fly with me, too Who share in the joy to be free So together we’ll rise, and if one starts to fall The bonds we have formed will give them a chance To still find their way to the stars And together, in love, we’ll be free. Bonds of affection bind me to few Obligations bind me to more Threads of acquaintance tangle the net Of bonds to my heart and my soul. Hold them I sing, and we will be free Hold them to be what we must Hold to the bonds that give us a chance Together, in love, to be free.
