She Kissed the Frog

She kissed the frog with passion deep And watched for signs of change, A handsome face instead of jowls, A coronet in place. But nothing changed. The frog remained, All squat and bald and round. What sort of fairy tale is this That makes our princess frown? But magic came to save the day, And give the couple grace. The frog remained a frog, you see, And she still got her prince, By seeing in that homely face The princely love within, And finding that her heart had made A charming prince of him.
