Unit Project: Synthesis

Part 1: Project Review (on Block and half of Monday's class)

  1. Log in to your Google Drive.
  2. Make a copy of the document linked here.

Part 2: Pulling It All Together (the second half of Monday's class)

  1. Spend the first half of class Monday continuing the work you started on Block last week in Step 1 above: looking over and taking notes on your peers' projects on various revolutions and rights movements. About a half hour into class switch your efforts to number two below.
  2. Copy and paste the questions below into your Google doc below the chart. Answer them in your document. These are BIG questions that require a lot of thought and evidence. There should be a lot of writing involved here! Use complete sentences. Include evidence from other Florentines' projects.
    1. What sort of things successfully trigger movements for more rights? How might protestors use this knowledge in the future?
    2. What sort of protest style seems to be most successful? How did you come to this answer? Explain why you believe your method is the best method to use.
    3. What trends or patterns do you see around the push for more rights and class, race, gender, or gender expression? Explain where you saw these patterns.
    4. Take a look at the list of rights your period believes everyone deserves (linked here). What rights should be added to your class's list?
    5. Despite these pushes for rights, we still live in an unequal society.
      1. Who is still left out or the push for more rights?
      2. Why does inequality persist in the United States and the rest of the world?

Do your best to complete this in class Monday. If you don't get done, don't worry about doing it outside of class. We'll chat about where people are at on Block.

Part 3: Submitting Your Knowledge (Block)

  • Go to the Google form linked here to submit your answers to Part 2.

Link to unit feedback (don't fill it out until we talk about it as a class).
