Starting Your Research

So you've got your research question cleared. Where to start?

Well, you'll need to take some notes as you do this. We'd encourage you to use Google docs to take notes. If you'd like to take notes in your own way, that's all good. If you'd like to use this graphic organizer - which we think will be useful - click here. Please make a copy of the document: when you're on the document, go to File -> Make a Copy and you'll have your very own notetaker in your Google Drive.

Resources to start your research

    1. Check out the Hillsdale High School library website linked here. The Encyclopedia Britannica and World Book will be particularly good sources on the library website.
    2. Feel free to build some schema on Wikipedia. Remember, the links at the bottom of Wikipedia are super useful. Wikipedia is a good place to start but a bad place to finish your research.
    3. Feel free to use Google to find resources, but remember the conversation we had on Block about finding good web resources.
