In-Person Conference Info:
No one will be required to attend in person, but those who prefer to do so will meet in DeMoss Hall, which is the very large pillared building at the center of the campus. The address of Liberty University is 1971 University Boulevard, Lynchburg, VA 24515.
Our conference will take place in Room 1334, which is on the ground floor toward the northern end of the building. If you enter the building from the side with the pillars on it, you will proceed straight until you reach a point where you must turn to the left or to the right. Turn right and you will eventually come to room 1334. We will post signage to guide you to the room. 1334 normally seats 66 people, but due to the pandemic the capacity has been reduced by 50%. We think that this will be sufficient, based on the number of attendees at recent VPAconferences combined with the fact that several presenters and commenters have already indicated that they will be attending virtually.
Parking on campus is only permitted to those who have a parking permit. We are procuring permits for the attenders. IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE IN PERSON, PLEASE WRITE TO ME SO THAT I CAN GET A PERMIT FOR YOU. My email address is msjones2@liberty.edu.
Masks are required whenever we are inside any academic building on campus except when one is presenting or eating/drinking. A Plexiglas panel has been installed in front of the podium so that those presenting may do so without wearing a mask. As always, Friday’s festivities include a complimentary banquet (provided by Liberty University). Masks are not required during the banquet but should be worn during the banquet address. Refreshments will be available on Friday afternoon and a continental breakfast will be provided on Saturday morning. Masks may be doffed while eating, but for everyone’s safety the university requires that they be worn the rest of the time.
