        Parking

Parking at VT on Friday requires a visitor's permit (to be picked up at the Visitors Center Parking Services - see Directions, just below) and this must be set up in advance. 

RSVP to Cathal Woods by Tuesday October 9th and this will be set up for you. 

After this date, you will need to contact parking@vt.edu or 540-231-3200 in person, and at least 24 hours in advance. 

        Directions 

Parking permits can be picked up from the Visitors Center at 965 Prices Fork Road. Parking Services are on Research Center Drive just below Southgate Drive (google maps link; note, Google calls this street Tech Center Drive)

To the meeting space: The sessions will be in The Great Room of (West) Ambler Johnston Hall; registration (probably) in the balcony outside the Room. Here is a google map; here is the campus map (Ambler Johnston is building number 032; Parking Services is 455). The address is 720 Washington St. SW, Blacksburg, VA 24061.

RSVP to Cathal Woods by Tuesday October 9th if you intend dining with us. There is no cost, but you must RSVP. Dinner will be held in the Torgersen Museum, room 1100, on the ground floor of Torgersen Hall. (Here is the campus map. Here is a map of the route from the meeting space to the museum.)

Days Inn (3503 Holiday Lane, Blacksburg, VA, 540-951-1330) ($89 if you mention the VPA before Oct. 9th, otherwise $101 online, $119)

Comfort Inn (3705 S. Main St., Blacksburg, VA, 540-951-1500)  (~$100) 

Microtel Inn (135 Ponderosa Drive, Christiansburg, VA, 24073, 540-381-0500) (~$80)

Holiday Inn (99 Bradley Drive, Christiansburg, VA, 540-381-8100) (~$95 VPA until Oct. 4th) 

Note that the weekend of the conference is also Family Weekend at VT, so there is some pressure on hotels. The hotels adjacent to campus have been blocked booked by VT unfortunately. You might get an unused room in a close hotel (such as Inn At Virginia Tech, Main Street Inn) at the last minute, but otherwise look for rooms in south Blacksburg and Christiansburg.
