71st Minutes

Minutes of the 71st Business Meeting, 2010. President James Mahon presiding.

A Resolution of Gratitude was read by the secretary.

Board Members: James Mahon steps down as president and Adam Kovach rises to that position from vice president. Cathal Woods rises from secretary to vice president. Peter Sutton was elected by acclaim to the position of Secretary.

Next Year's Host Institution: Various members offered to pursue hosting of next year's conference at their home institutions. The approximate cost is $1000 dollars; the largest single expense is the banquet.

Announcement of Undergraduate Conference: Laura Ekstrom announced that W&M would be holding an undergraduate conference in the spring of 2012. Submissions are encouraged.

Planning For Next Year: It was generally agree that invited speakers be invited if possible, prior to the CFP being sent out. Suggestions for speakers to invite were made.

Technology: The secretary requested that members contact the person responsible for departmental home pages and ask that a link be included to the new VPA web site at sites.google.com/site/virginiaphilosophy . It was also agreed that steps should be taken to have the old site (at vt.edu) removed.
