In the past week, during our search for sources, we came across a source regarding video surveillance being used for monitoring boat traffic. This is something that we had not previously thought of, and is something that could be very useful for increasing the efficiency of Venice's boat traffic.
Although the idea may not be new to everyone, this idea of video surveillance is something that has not been used to its full potential. This could be used as a solution to many of our problems, such as monitoring boat speeds, collecting data on the number of trips boats make, how many times they visit each dock, how many passengers are on each boat, what paths the boats are taking, where the bottlenecks are occurring, and much more. This is something that could be used in both data collection and afterwards when a new five year plan has been set in place to make sure everything is being followed.
Discovering this idea is not just important for the video surveillance aspect, but it also showed us that we must think outside the box to develop innovative ideas. We cannot simply keep with the ideas that past projects came up with, but must come up with our own as well, as we create our five year plan to reduce moto ondoso.
