This past week, the Wakes team has advanced even further in the IQP process. Our team held a meeting with Oreste Venier last Tuesday concerning his moto ondoso and murrina sensors. His moto ondoso sensor can be attached to canal walls and measure the amount of wake over time and the murrina device is the tracker we plan on using to follow cargo as it moves throughout the city. Oreste seemed very enthusiastic to be working with us and wishes to be directly involved in our data collection for our project.
We also met with Professor Chiarelli to discuss the writing portion of our project. His feedback was mostly positive and he informed us of some improvements that we can make. After this meeting, the team met again and worked on the paper together. We edited the Introduction of the paper based on the critiques given during the last PQP meeting and flushed out the Background and Methodology sections. The Background section has been worked on even more and more detailed content was added to give readers more important information about each topic and gave the section a bit more bulk. When editing the Methodology section, we added more details the major points we already had to create a framework for our writing in the future. We have yet to hear from Gregorio Giogetti regarding boat designs and plan to get in touch with him again this week. Everyone in the team seems to be doing well and making great progress.
Until next week,
The Wakes Team
