Through meeting with our advisers and looking at past projects, we've found that the way we had previously split the project up was not the best way to do it. Rather than classifying our solutions by type of transportation, we had characterized them by type of solution: finding better, more efficient routes, decreasing the amount of time each boat has to spend navigating, and improving boat hull designs. Realistically, however, these solutions will vary wildly based on which type of transportation they're applied to.
Cargo boats, taxi boats, and public transportation boats are all designed and dispatched differently, and the routes they take are completely different. As such it would make sense to split the project up by these transportation types, and then tailoring each solution to that transportation. In this way we can also more easily look at previous IQP research on wake which is also often split based on these three types of boats.
