This past week has been quite the whirlwind now that ID 2050 and PQP meetings are in full swing. For ID 2050, each project team was told to research past IQP projects pertaining to our current project and then present our findings to the class. My team dug into the history of projects about the Venetian wakes, comparing previous projects and choosing one we thought encompassed our goals the best; the 2001 and 2006 projects standing above the rest.
Our presentation was the 2006 project, Re-Engineering the Venetian Taxi Transportation System: Efficiency Improvements that Reduce Moto Ondoso, regarding the Venetian taxi system and its effects on wake production. When we presented, we touched upon the relationship between Venice's most popular form of transportation and the degradation that it leaves the canal walls in. We also weighed out its pros and cons, stating that the paper was written very well and that we liked some of the potential solutions they suggested but also that some of the other solutions suggested were too far-fetched to succeed. I thought our presentation went very well and I have a good feeling about presenting with my team later this year.
Overall, I think my team and I are doing very well and enjoy working with each other. We still have plenty more to do in the coming weeks, like starting our IQP proposal and continuing on with our ID 2050 and PQP assignments, but I am confident that we can tackle them. More updates in the weeks to come!
