Reducing the Issue of Moto Ondoso In Venice
This project is intended to help the City of Venice reduce the moto ondoso or wakes produced by the cargo, taxi, and public transportation boats by proposing a phased solution improving the efficiency of each system. To do so, we have divided the Venetian into three primary transportation systems: taxi transportation, public transportation, and cargo transportation, each of which must be addressed differently. Our objectives during the course of the project will be to:
To reduce the distance traveled by each parcel in the cargo delivery system
To increase the passenger miles and reduce idle time of the taxi transportation system
To quantify passenger miles traveled and wake produced by public transportation
To identify feasible boat hulls that reduce moto ondoso generated at low speeds
