Knockroe

Knockroe, Cnoc Rua, a red hill. Acre 188 acres.

There is a well called Tobar na Rátha in the Raheen Field and a Caiseal, until destroyed by roadmaking long years ago. The field adjoining the site is called Log Loiscthe, a burnt hollow, in which stones with concentric circles were found. The Lingaun river forms the west country boundary from here to Tybroughney southwards to join the Suir.
