What does it mean that Jesus “emptied himself”? (Phil.2:6-9)

Yeshua the Messiah -- The Agent of YEHOVAH God! Yeshua, as the agent of YEHOVAH God, is FULLY empowered to LEGALLY and FULLY represent YEHOVAH. As the agent (shaliach) of YEHOVAH God, Yeshua is "like," or the "likeness" and "image" of YEHOVAH God; however, just as the agent (the one sent) is not the principal (who sent him), Yeshua is NOT God! Since he is the FULLY empowered agent of YEHOVAH God, he has the power to forgive sins, heal, resurrect, etc. But this power does NOT prove him to be God. All it proves is that he is FULLY empowered by YEHOVAH God!

Is Yeshua really Yahweh?

Bible Verses That Indicate Yeshua Is Not Yahowah the Creator

No one knows about the time or hour, not even the son, but the Father only (Mattithyah 24:36).

Here Yeshua makes a distinction between what he knows and what the Father knows.

My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me, yet not as I will, but as You will (Mattithyah 26:36).

Yeshua's will is likewise autonomous from Yahowah’s will. Yeshua is seeking acquiescence to Yahowah’s will.

For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the son to have life in himself (Yahchanan 5:26).

Yeshua received his life from Yahowah. Yahowah received His life from no one. He is eternally self-existent.

By myself, I can do nothing: I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but Him Who has sent me (Yahchanan 5:30).

Yeshua says, “by myself, I can do nothing.” This indicates that Yeshua is relying upon his own relationship with Yahowah. He is not trying to “please myself” but rather is seeking to “please the One Who sent me.”

The son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees the Father doing, because whatever the Father does, the son does also (Yahchanan 5:19).

Yeshua declares that he is following a pattern laid down by Yahowah. He is expressing obedience to Yahowah.

Why do you call me righteous? No one is righteous, except Yahowah alone (Yahchanan Mark 10:18).

Here Yeshua emphatically makes a distinction between himself and Yahowah.

The Father is greater than I (Yahchanan 14:28).

This is another strong statement that makes a distinction between Yeshua and Yahowah.

Our Father, which is in Heaven (Mattithyah 6:9).

He didn’t pray, Our Father, which is standing right here!”

My Mighty One, My Mighty One, why have You forsaken me? (Mattithyah 27:46)

Inconceivable if he is Yahowah the Creator.

. . .that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. . ..that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me (Yahchanan 17:21-23).

In this prayer Yeshua defines the term “to be one.” It is clearly accomplished through the relationship of two autonomous beings. Believers are to model their relationship (to become one) after the relationship of Yahowah and the Messiah (as Yahowah and the Messaih are one). Notice that “to be one” does not mean to be “one and the same.”

For He "has put everything under his feet." Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include Yahowah Himself, Who put everything under the Messiah. When He has done this, then the son himself will be made subject to Him Who put everything under him, so that Yahowah may be all in all (1 Corinthians 15: 27-28).

Shaul declares that Yahowah put everything under thje Messiah, except Yahowah Himself. Instead Yahowah rules all things through the Messiah.

The son is the radiance of Yahowah’s esteem and the exact representation of His being (Hebrews 1:3).

Yeshua is the exact representation of His being. I send my representative to Congress. He is not me, myself. He is my representative.

Hebrews 4:15 (compared with Yaaqob 1:13)

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15).

Yesshua has been tempted in every way, just as we are, yet he never sinned.

When tempted, no one should say, Yahowah is tempting me. For Yahowah cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt (Yaaqob [James] 1:13).

Yeshua was tempted in every way, but Yahowah cannot be tempted. Yeshua made a distinction between he and his Almighty One Yahowah by saying “Why do you call me righteous, none are righteous, but Yahowah?” Not that none perform righteous acts, but that the righteousness that one does comes from Yahowah.

During the time of Yeshua's life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One Who could redeem him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal redemption for all who obey him (Hebrews 5:7-9).

Yeshua had to walk a course of belief and obedience in order to achieve perfection. By achieving perfection, Yeshua “became” the source of eternal redemption.
