My thoughts last night. St John 11:23-26
23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25 Jesus said unto, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Notice 2 scriptures above. First verse 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? Many Christians have physically died since Jesus said this. The resurrection was spiritual not physical.
Now lets look at verse 24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. The resurrection was to take place on the last day. What was the resurrection of the dead? Verse 25 lets us know that Jesus is the resurrection. What does that mean? The resurrection is a lot easier to understand than people believe. If you are resurrected you have been made spiritually alive and/or saved from spiritual death caused by the fall. The early church was baptized into Christ. There resurrection or salvation was not complete until Jesus returned according to the disciples. The disciples said, their salvation was nearer than when they first believed . What happens when you believe? You are saved you are resurrected. When Jesus Christ returned he said he would return with forgiveness of sins Heb.9:28. In other words what Jesus did at Calvary would go into total effect at his return. The early church had their salvation or resurrection complete when Jesus Christ returned in 70 A.D. in the clouds of judgment. Remember clouds represents God 's judgment in the Old Testament. Jesus judged unbelieving Jews during the Jewish Roman. The Christians remembered the disciples telling them- when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Those who were alive and remained until the coming of Christ had their salvation/resurrection complete when Christ returned and remembered to leave the city when they saw Roman armies surrounding Jerusalem. They fled to the mountains and lived . Those who were in Hades had their souls/spirits resurrected into Christ. Christ ultimate plan was to live in his people in the form of the Holy Spirit and to have his people live in him. Jesus is the resurrection of the spiritually dead. by Thracia Gharst
