Instruction: Students are divided into two teams and debate about the future course of monetary policy.

Timeline of debate

  1. Each team is given ten minutes to make an opening remark in the beginning of the debate.
  2. Debate will take about one hour and half to two hours, expected to cover three to four topics. Topics are selected from the entire course material, but limited to half an hour max for each.
  3. Chairperson decides what topic to include in the meeting agenda and in what order. This will be announced by April 12th.
  4. After the debate, each team will have five more minutes to make a concluding remark. Each team can decide on the spot who will take the role.

Roles

  1. The debate participants consist of a) chairperson team (2), b) two teams (2. 4). The individual role will be assigned by the instructor and will be announced on March 7th.
  2. One chairperson and one vice-chairperson will co-host the entire debate. They are expected to be capable of leading a discussion as well as having an interest in monetary policy related topics.
  3. Team members are expected to select one team leader, who will be responsible of work deadlines and organizing a meeting.
