Drogo's Art Shows

Welcome to Drogo's Art Shows!

"I document events or collections where I display, participate, or perform with other artists in random places or with caring communities; but I have mostly recorded interviews and videos and photos of other people's shows. Every year I add to the total collection of my own works, and I hope to be in more gallery shows, but I am mostly interested in sharing and expressing rather than winning awards or fame extracted from the wealth of others. My own shows can be private or public, depending on what is available. Modern art (Impressionist-Abstract) began as revolution against rich elites who had social standards of quality based on class, but became part of snobby establishment style standards. The Whistler-Ruskin lawsuit debate, was an example of how radical it was to show "pieces of lesser quality". Ruskin slandered Whistler's impressionist piece "for flinging a pot of paint in the public's face". I cannot frame my art without wondering if i can sell it for the hundreds it costs to frame, but perhaps I should accept the 'pay to play' lottery aspect of professional art. At this point in my career I want to represent lower class artists, from the common sense financial perspective. I think more artists should be able to show publicly without having to pay elite fees the equivalent of our monthly bills. Most of us cannot afford to gamble with that much money which must be used for month-to-month living expenses. To get savings, we need to earn more than we are paying to survive. Thanks for your interest in my work, enjoy!" - Drogo

"We should have more shows that are more like informal parties, rather than formal events." - Chance McCoy

"We were made for this, things will get better!" - Chris Robinson
