plans for 2001

Ron Beatty's Plans for 2002 as of 27 December, 2001

I always have lots of plans. Some I do on time, others late, most get postponed indefinitely. The wedding and leaf-peeping motorcycle trip departure was two days late and lasted twelve weeks instead of six. I did have fun and will post a full description early next year.

Oops, I've forgotten about that trip description. I got busy.

I'm planning to stay in Staunton over the winter typing Rambo genealogy, packing my keepsakes for perpetual storage, and selling my junk at yard sales. I am co-ordinating a family reunion next July 4th in Keosauqua, Iowa. NOTICE to all RELATIVES: our Rambo family reunion is planned for July 4th at the lodge in Lacy Keosauqua State Park. (My relatives are mostly interesting, insightful, and lots of fun.)

I did stay at the house in Staunton, but didn't finish the Rambo genealogy. The reunion was a lot of fun with a couple of surprises. Hmm, I guess I haven't written about that either.

I've also come up with a promising scheme for basketball this winter. Staunton doesn't have much to offer, but Belleville does, so I'll place an ad in the Belleville newspaper offering housesitting services for the winter months. If that works out I'll spend Monday through Friday in Belleville playing basketball and typing genealogy. I'd commute to Staunton whenever convenient.

Nope, no responses to the house sitting ad. I ran (slowly) at the high school track nearly every day all winter. My sister moved in with me for the last three months of my stay in Staunton. We enjoyed the company and ran together nearly every evening.

I expect employment demands to diminish, which will enable me to finish phase one of the Rambo genealogy this winter. With luck I'll get ALL my possessions stored or sold, enabling me to resume open-road motorcycling "for the rest of my life." I hope to move out by April 1st and to head for Philadelphia to do research about the early Rambo ancestors.

I did get moved out of the house in Staunton, and am now "living on the road" for the rest of my life although I still haven't finished the Rambo book. (It is "nearly" done.)

I haven't spent nearly enough time in Philadelphia and environs although I did find a lot of good genealogical materials during the three months I spent in Salt Lake City in 2002/2003.

I have lots of things to write including letters, e-mail, travelogs, web pages, the Rambo genealogy, philosophy, and memorials to my mother, father and brother. Many of these projects will be posted on this website somewhere.

Oops, most of those projects are still pending. Just too many fun things to do every day.

Of course all these plans could be sidetracked by a call from my job to work on computer stuffs.

The job has been non-existant since late 2002.
