Conch Computer Systems, basic statements of capability and philosophy.

Conch Computer Systems is a consortium of computer expertise headquartered in the Florida Keys. The three principals have a wealth of computer expertise spanning the entire computer era from the 60s right up to the present leading edge technologies of UML and Java. Conch Computer Systems offers computer education, systems analysis, design, and implementation.

We have prior experience in a huge diversity of fields from criminal justice to hospital systems to the space shuttle, NASA and military programs. We are familiar with mundane applications such as Real World accounting, order systems and inventory control. We've used everything from mainframes to micros and minis; PCs and Macintosh; Unix and DOS and Windows.

We offer educational programs for executives who need to understand the concepts behind modern computer jargon. In most cases we can speak the language of your business. We offer vastly different programs for the techies who need to understand the details.

Because we are all accomplished techies and are aware of our strengths, we are dedicated to making computers fulfill the needs of our clients. We are exceptional communicators who excell at discovering client needs. Our clients never say to us, "Well your system does exactly what I told you I needed, but I can't use it because it doesn't work for me." On the other hand, we are also aware of our limitations, so are not interested in RFPs, proposals, or government-style paperwork. If you need paperwork, please contact our worthy affiliate, TSG.

We work hard and we love to satisfy our clients, but we do live in the Florida Keys and we do understand the value of living a satisfying life, so you can be sure that we will not sacrifice our freedom and enjoyment by committing to unrealistic goals and impossible timeframes. Every day we are limited to 24 hours to eat, sleep, work, and enjoy life. We strive to maximize productivity without sacrificing sleep or enjoyment. We work hard. We work smart. We do one job at a time. We refuse to spread ourselves too thin. We live in paradise and we enjoy our "idle" hours immensely.

Whenever we implement a system, we use a proven technology that works for us and minimizes costs for our clients. Rapid Protyping shows the client what to expect from the computer quickly and often. Rapid Prototyping discovers problems early in development process, long before time and money is wasted.

Besides the expertise in house, Conch Computer Systems is affiliated with other computer experts scattered throughout the country from Boston to Silicon Valley.

It is a true-ism in the world of computers that you can demand only two of these three characteristics when developing a system.

1. functionality

2. expense

3. time.

In other words, you can have a system delivered on time for a fixed cost, but it won't work.

You can have a working system delivered on time, but the cost will be sky high.

My favorite choice is to have a working system delivered for a reasonable cost, but it won't be delivered on time. It will get done whenever it gets done. If you have a bit of patience and want a smoothly functioning system delivered for a reasonable cost, perhaps you should consider contacting us at Conch Computer Systems to see if we are free to begin working for you.
