Now It's Official: Team Martin Wins 2014 Ronin Ryder Cup

Las Vegas, Nevada - The final results have been tallied and validate a strong three-day performance by Team Martin over Team Matsuda to win the 2014 Ronin Ryder Cup. The final score 53 - 34. This years event was scored using a modified Stableford scoring system instead of the normal Match Play rules.

Day 1 - Scramble

1st day of the tournament began as a 7:30 shotgun start at Arroyo at Red Rock. With the Stableford scoring system, none of the matches were out of reach until the final hole. As teams reported in, it came down to the final match to decide the winning team for the day.

Team Martin - 5 matches/10 points

Team Matsuda - 4 matches/8 points

Day 2 - Better Ball

2nd day of the tournament was played at Siena. There were a couple of runaway matches, but most were close. It came down to the last group again to determine who was going to pay for lunch. Team Martin ended up winning the day.

Team Martin - 5 matches/10 points

Team Matsuda - 4 matches/8 points

Day 3 - Individual

The day started out badly. RRC President became ill the night before and could not compete on Monday. The Captains made some last minute lineup changes to allow Donald's match to be halved with Craig.

The Individual event started at 7:00 at Angel Park, Mountain Course. Course was in good condition and weather warm, but not too hot. Team Martin ran away with the tournament by winning 10 of 17 matches to sweep the tournament.

Team Martin - 10 matches, 2 tie/33 points

Team Matsuda - 5 matches, 2 tie/18 points

Mitch Higa dominated the final table of the RRC poker tournament to be the first repeat champion of the event.
