You can parry for a friend as a reactive action.
Have to be adjacent to your friend
have to be engaged with the opponent
Have to declare before defense rolls and before your friend
You get the professional skills you choose in your class default, even if you don't put in points. Reference the learning new professional skills where you can put in 3 experience rolls and a month to get "a basic grounding". That sounds like a default to me, even if I don't find it particularly clear.
You can put in 15 bonus points instead of 10. Different from classic fantasy, but consistent with Mythras.
You can use sweep attacks against Rabble. A sweep attack attacks your three front engagement squares for a single action point. You make a single attack roll, single damage roll, and all special effects happen to all simultaneously. See page 105, Mythras
Readying a Weapon while not engaged is a free action. This also has the effect of reducing the Load value on missile weapons by 1, and thrown weapons "reload" for free. While you are engaged, this does not apply.
Rapid reload (the special effect) may be used to draw a weapon of any type instead.
Moving a hand off a two handed weapon to do something else is a free action, as is putting it back on.
Thieves may backstab at close range with missiles, but no farther.
Backstab gives choose location. You can't choose location at farther than close range
Thieves may choose to use the updated backstab or the default backstab
Different uses for different situations
Cure Minor Wounds and Lay on Hands will raise a Serious wound to 1 hit point. It will raise a major wound to a serious wound.
Cure Serious Wounds will raise a Major wound to 1 hit point. If used on a dismembered limb, it can reattached the limb if cast within 1 minute.
You may spend a luck point and give the group a flashback.
Something that happened that relates to the situation where you are making a skill roll. Might be totally crazy, but tell the story and pick a skill it involves.
Then you can augment your role with the skill from the story, even after the fact. If you tell a story and it involves someone else's skill, great! You can use their skill as the augmenter skill.
All weapons may attempt to Sunder an opponent's armour, however some weapons are especially well-suited for this. When using a weapon with the 'Sunder' descriptor (Military Picks, Crossbows, Great weapons, etc) for the Sunder Special Effect, you roll damage twice and pick the best result.
You may declare you are attacking the weapon, thus, gaining the benefit of the Damage Weapon special effect and losing the damaging of your opponent. He still gets to defend as normal, including parrying your Damage Weapon attempt. Special effects are still chosen (within rationality).
You may be rendered Helpless by Grappling. If, for some reason, you are dog-piled, consider each grappler as inflicting a stacking 1 Step penalty. This means that most people are Helpless at 4 people (Hard, Formidable, Herculean, Helpless). At this point, you should probably figure out which god you worship so you know where to go.
Grappling damage ignores armor. It is assumed that they are doing joint locks or crushing your armor on you, like a giant constrictor snake.
Being Helpless/unable to defend means they can automatically crit. Note, this is in the book (melee combat situational modifiers) as automatically hitting. It seems silly though that you can't get any crit special effects.
Backstabs act as follows
Because the attacker is typically able to strike without hindrance, like Surprise, the first attack on the target gains a bonus Special Effect if successful, and this may be chosen from any Special Effect regardless of success level. Therefore, the thief may choose Impale, Choose Location, Bypass Armor, Maximize Damage, etc. Making it very versatile and deadly, able to be customized based on the defenses of the opponent.
Monks can implement a number of talents equal to their rank at one time. The number of actions it takes is equal to the longest one to implement.
Rabble get a small number of special effects. Any opposed rolls required are unopposed but still must be made. So, for example, a character would have to make an unopposed Brawn, Evade or Acrobatics.
Trip
Damage Weapon
Sunder
Disarm
Bash (with appropriate weapon)
Entangle (with appropriate weapon)
Skills advanced on the following table. There is no roll to see if you advance, just spend an xp roll and get a roll
When sneaking, subtract 5 times your Armor Penalty from your skill. If you slow down your movement, you may reduce this penalty by 5% per 1m less movement.
Example: A paladin in articulated plate has a Stealth skill of 70% and a 6m movement. If he tries to sneak, he needs to subtract 50% (for a total of 20%) from his stealth skill. If he slows down to 1m, he will have a 45% in Stealth.
Armor and weapon with special materials may be made in accordance with the materials table, p58 Mythras. Equipment of special materials has it's cost adjusted by 2 x (1-(ENC modifier of material)). This assumes functional, and not ceremonial, armor.
Example: A full set of silk AP 4 armor would weigh 16 and would cost 3360.
