13th Age with Monolith Conan Maps

    • Next to - only in the cleric spell, inside the same zone

  • Nearby - You are in the same zone or in an adjacent zone.

    • Far Away - You are not in the same zone or an adjacent zone, but on the map.

    • Engaged - You are in the same zone and your minis are "based". Requires a Move Action

    • exception - if you are in an adjacent zone and the target's zone is full, you may engage the target. Move your mini next to the target. if the target's zone later gain's space

    • by definition, engaged requires the minis to be in conflict

    • Free - You are not Engaged.

    • Pop-Free - Unbase your minis.

    • Disengaging - Pop-Free, then you can use you move if you like.

    • This is strictly a state change from Engaged to Free

    • Intercepting - If someone moves into the zone you are in and tries to finish their movement outside of the zone, or moves into your zone and tries to engage someone other than you, you can move to intercept if you are Free.

    • In a group - Minis in the same zone.

Movement

You can move to one adjacent zone with one move action. If you have two move actions somehow, can move two zones. If you move into a space, you can engage as a free action. If you are already in the space, but somehow not engaged, you need a move action to reengage.

Line of Sight

Use the dots on the map, just like Conan. In fact, use the Line of Sight maps that people make.

Ranged attacks Cover

Occasionally, there will be obstacles on the map that cross line of sight. the GM may rule there is cover in the way. it's a -2 modifier. It should be reasonably obvious there is something more serious in the way (bush, mast, door, etc)

Height on Ranged attacks

occasionally, there will be obviously higher places and the situation warrants for a bonus. +2 or perhaps an extra zone of distance area bout right.

Nearby Targets Only

Small, thrown: baton, club, dagger, knife, sickle

Small, crossbow: hand crossbow

Nearby Targets Okay; Far Away Targets –2 Atk

Light/simple, thrown: axe, javelin, spear

Nearby and Far Away Targets Okay

Light/simple, crossbow: light crossbow

Light/simple, bow: shortbow, sling

Heavy/martial, crossbow: heavy crossbow

Heavy/martial, bow: longbow
